Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using LacunaEngine (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, Content Guidelines, and Acceptable Use Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using it, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Accounts

You sign in with a third-party identity provider (e.g. Google). You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your sign-in method secure. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

4. Your content

"Creator Content" means the text, prompts, characters, places, maps, stories, and AI-generated assets you create with the Service.

  • Ownership. As between you and us, you retain your rights in your Creator Content, subject to the licenses below.
  • License to us. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, and display your Creator Content as needed to operate and improve the Service (including generating, previewing, and — if you choose — publishing it).
  • Responsibility. You are responsible for your Creator Content and for having the rights necessary to create and publish it. It must comply with our Content Guidelines and Acceptable Use Policy.
  • AI output. AI-generated assets may be similar to content generated for others, may be inaccurate, and are provided "as is." Rights in AI output may be uncertain and vary by jurisdiction.

5. Publishing

If you publish a novel, you grant other users a license to play it through the Service. You are responsible for ensuring published content complies with these Terms and the Guidelines. We may remove published content that violates them.

6. Credits and payments

Generation features consume credits. Credits may be granted with a plan or purchased in packs. Subscriptions and packs are billed through our payment processor (Stripe).

  • Credits and subscriptions are described on the Pricing page and in-product.
  • Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and credits are non-transferable and have no cash value.
  • We may change prices and credit costs on a prospective basis.

7. Third-party AI providers

Generation relies on third-party providers (e.g. Anthropic, fal.ai / Google, and others). Your prompts and related content are sent to these providers to produce results, subject to their terms. We are not responsible for provider availability, output, or policies.

8. Acceptable use

Your use must comply with the Acceptable Use Policy and Content Guidelines. We use automated and manual measures to enforce them and may filter, block, or remove content and suspend accounts.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Some provisions survive termination (e.g. ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability).

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service or AI output will be uninterrupted, accurate, or fit for a particular purpose.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, additional notice. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
